After signing up for Google Apps for your domain, one of the first things Google wants you to do is update your MX records. But as you read over the directions on how to do this it either confuses you or it’s just a time consuming part of the process. If you bought your domain name through GoDaddy and you use the Total DNS Control then your worries are over! GoDaddy has a page you can go to that will do the configuration for you. Just follow these easy steps.
- Login to GoDaddy
- Make sure your domain is set to use GoDaddy’s Total DNS Control
- Visit https://www.godaddy.com/gdshop/google/gmail_domain.asp
- Fill in your domain name and click Continue
- Done
It doesn’t get any easier than that. Give it a couple minutes for the changes to be reflected in Total DNS Control and then give it about an hour or so for the changes to propagate through the web. This saves a lot of confusion if you don’t know what you’re doing and it saves a lot of time since you don’t have to type in all the new MX records one by one.
If you know of any other company that offers something similar to this, let me know.
